Dr. phil. Nadine Godehardt is Deputy Head of Head of Research Division Asia at Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik (the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP,) in Berlin. SWP advises political decision-makers on international politics and foreign and security policy and are orientated primarily towards the German government and Bundestag, as well as relevant international organizations such as the European Union, NATO and the United Nations.

Dr. Godehardt holds a PhD in International Relations, University of Hamburg and a Master Degree in Politics, Philosophy and Sinology, University of Tuebingen.

She was a Guest Scholar at the Institute of Asia-Pacific Studies (CASS), the China Foreign Affairs University and the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies, Singapore.

Her research interest includes China’s Foreign and Security Policy, Theories of International Relations/International Political Sociology, Constitution of (international) regions.

She currently has the lead on two three-year research projects: Which region? The politics of the UN Security Council P5 in international security crises (2016-2019) as well as Urbanity and Global Politics (2015-2017). She is also part of a Research Network dealing with questions regarding Visuality and Global Politics.
