Experience

My fields of research are sociolinguistics and academic writing and supervision. Currently, I am working on three projects and related publications: 1) Language use, language attitudes and linguistic accommodation among Danes in Norway, 2) Body language and nonverbal communication among Greenlanders living in Denmark, 3) Supervisors' experiences with academic supervision (in a sociolinguistic perspcetive). My publications include books and articles as well as reviews - for Scandinavian and international journals and global publishers. Many of my publications are registered in CRISTIN [Current Research Information SysTem In Norway], The University of Bergen: https://wo.cristin.no/as/WebObjects/cristin.woa/6/wa/fres?action=sok&pnr=44817&la=en&sort=ar

For more than 35 years, I have worked as a university teacher, lecturer and researcher at several European universities - in Amsterdam and Groningen (The Netherlands), Flensburg (Germany), Copenhagen, Aarhus and Odense (Denmark), Bergen and Oslo (Norway), Stockholm (Sweden), and Reykjavik (Iceland). I have taught sociolinguistics, different linguistic disciplines, translation theory, Danish as a foreign language, and academic writing and supervision, at all university levels. I have developed courses and study programs, participated in research groups and projects, and presented my research at Scandinavian and international conferences and meetings.
