Introduction |
This module is about enterprise architecture design that guides and governs IT systems used in supporting business in organizations. Emphasis is placed on the technical capabilities along with application services needed to support business services.
After completing the module a student should be able to:
• Understand the service orientation paradigm in enterprise architecture;
• Explain the significance and key elements of TOGAF (architecture development method) and how they relate to governance and the key business and technical forces driving the use of IT in enterprises;
• Explain the need for models, viewpoints, and representations of enterprise architectures;
• Use an architectural modelling language (ArchiMate) to build a coherent model representation of an enterprise’s deployed business, applications and technology;
• Apply a set of basic architectural modelling exemplars.
