Introduction |
Creativity is a fundamental human potential for the development of professional and daily life’s activities. It allows, not only to create in an artistic way, but to identify and solve new problems in innovative and resolutive ways. According to Csikszentmihalyi (1996, 42), creative work does not necessarily occur inside people's heads, but in the interaction between a person's thoughts and a sociocultural context. Innate theories of creativity assume that only people with an innate gift can be creative. In contrast with this approach, constructivist approaches to creativity allow us to confirm that creativity can be trained and exercised. Creativity is indeed a key tool to shape and design efficient communications and content creation in the era of the digital storytelling. This course brings together those two fundamental fields for human communication: on the one hand, the world of creation and dissemination of new audiovisual content; on the other, creativity. In this context, the emerging forms of multimedia and interactive storytelling will be presented, as well as the convergence dynamics in the production and distribution of cultural audiovisual products. Special attention will be paid to the media specificity of hybrids formats, as well as the new ways of production following the Open Access philosophy, which enables everyone to become a producer. The MAIN OBJECTIVE of the course is to provide students with a conceptual and practical base to enhance creativity, in order to produce innovative audiovisual contents. The specific objectives of the course are: 1. To have a conceptual and practical approach to creativity 2. To explore efficient techniques for the development of creative audiovisual contents 3. To learn how to produce a short video-production with a mobile phone 5. To get to know innovative genders and new audio-visual formats 6. To explore the philosophy of the Open Knowledge and the use of the Creative Commons Licences. 7. To explore the possibilities of the collaborative audiovisual creations. 8. To foster team work 9. To develop critical thinking |
