Introduction |
This course provides an overview of the digital translation process, covering key technologies and methodologies that have reshaped the industry and professional practice. Students will explore the full translation workflow, from text analysis and terminology management to post-editing and quality assurance. The course introduces foundational concepts such as Translation Memory (TM), Machine Translation (MT), Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) tools, Translation Management Systems (TMS) and artificial intelligence (AI) in translation. Through hands-on practice, students will develop a critical understanding of the benefits and limitations of these tools and their impact on the profession. Ethical and sustainability considerations, data security, and the role of the translator in the digital age will also be addressed. By the end of the course, students will be equipped with essential digital skills to enhance their translation processes and professional workflows. |
